Photographing your own children…

When you are the child of a photographer, somewhere along the line you develop something called “PCS” or Photographer’s Child Syndrome.  PCS can be quite irritating. You (as a photographer) have great plans of taking amazing photos of your children… capturing every sweet detail… but your child has other ideas.

Every now and again I can bribe my children with something to get one decent photo but I don’t attempt to get more than a few photos.  And I rarely pull out my “big girl camera” because they typically won’t cooperate when they see that.

Something like this little gem… 447A9798 copy-advFor Easter I wanted to get one good photo of my girls in their Easter dresses.  The resulting image took 20 minutes, a twisted ankle and I STILL had to do a head swap to get them both smiling! 2016-05-15_0002 copy 2-adv2Anyway… I purchased a gown not too long ago for clients to use during sessions and my oldest thought it was adorable!  So I thought I could use it as bribery.  Boy, did that work! I need to remember this for future photos with her!  Here are some of the images I was able to get:  447A3450 copy-adv 0-adv 447A3487 copy-adv 447A3587 copy-adv 447A3601 copy-adv 447A3609 copy-adv 447A3527-inprog-advAnd I wanted to get some matching photos of my youngest so we threw her in the same dress!

If you have a session coming up and you’d like to use the gown, just let me know! I have one in size 1-2 years and 3-4!
