I started photographing Kennedy when she turned two years old. She was extremely nervous that first time so we ended up chasing each other and just played around. We ended up getting some great shots! This year she is turning FIVE!!! (I cannot believe how quickly the time is passing!) This time, I didn’t need to chase her or anything! She seriously rocked it! ❤ ❤ ❤ See for yourself! 😉
We have gotten so much rain this spring… and the day of the Spencer Family’s photos was yet another day with rain in the forecast. In fact, while traveling to Hershey, there were rain showers off and on. Needless to say, I was incredibly nervous that it would start to downpour. Fortunately, as soon as I arrived (after getting lost and needing to be rescued by the family) the rain stopped… and it was a gorgeous day for photos! Now enjoy this beautiful family…
Thanks so much! I had a blast!
I know for me and my family, I am usually the one taking pictures. Very rarely do I get a nice photo of Genesis and I (other than the occasional “miracle” photo via iphone camera). And an excuse that I hear often from mothers (and let’s face it, I’ve used it myself a time or two…)
…”I need to lose weight”…
Years from now, when we are long gone… our children are not going to wish that their mother was thinner in every photo. More than likely, they are going to wish they had more photos of you. I think its important that we, as mother’s, make sure we step out on the other side of the camera, whether we are comfortable with our bodies or not, and capture memories with our children.
Because of this, I am planning to have “Mommy & Me” mini sessions this summer. My hope is that you will let go of any insecurities you may have and jump at the chance to have some fun photos with your children!
Stay tuned for more details on these sessions…
Clearly we need an updated professional photo (she’s a year old now)! Thank you to Megan Shadle for taking this beautiful photo of us!
I’m not one for enjoying planning events… (Just ask my mother, who pretty much planned my whole wedding). I’m not sure if it is my attention span that is similar to a two year old’s or what… So surprisingly, I really got into planning my daughter’s “Hungry Caterpillar” birthday party!
One idea I had was to “remake” the Hungry Caterpillar book and make it a picture book of Genesis. It took a lot of planning (from figuring out what outfits to wear, to the backdrop to use, to keeping Genesis interested in this long photo shoot, to designing the actual pages of the book).
Here is a sneak peek inside her book:
I’m convinced that if we had our wedding themed in The Very Hungry Caterpillar I would have been more productive in the planning!
